Schaeffer Farm Trail

The South Germantown Recreational Area and Soccerplex are near the popular multi-use trail. The longest of the five trails is the yellow trail. Many variations are available. The trail can be combined with the Hoyle's Mill Trail. The trails are marked. The map is displayed at every trail junction. The Maryland Department of Natural Resources and the Mid Atlantic Off Road Enthusiasts collaborated on the project. The trail is mostly populated by bicycles. In the interest of courtesy and safety, hikers should step off the trail at the bikers' approach. They can get going fast. The parking lot is relatively large and can fill up quickly.
