About This Trail

The Saugatuck Dunes State Park has 1,000 acres of land and 2.5 miles of shore line. The park has fresh water coastal dunes that are over 200 feet tall. The park's terrain is varied from steep slopes to rolling hills. The park is relatively undiscovered. The Augustinian Order used the buildings as a seminary and acquired the land for Saugatuck Dunes in 1971. The structures were used as police offices when the state took ownership.
