About This Trail
The trail goes through a mature bottomland forest and through a lowlying river canyon, where cotton Wood and other trees can be seen. The Thompson river's flood water helps nourish the bottomland forest from the trail. The historic landscape of tallgrass prairie can be found in the area where a small section of the trail crosses a ridge top. There are two locations a bit distance from this Trail: the Thompson house and cemetery. Someone said the trail might be susceptible to periodic flooding.
