This trail is part of the Coal Creek Park trail system. Some of the best sites can be found on this trail. You can cross Coal Creek via wooden bridges on this trail. Sand Stone Falls is one of the Coal Creeks tributaries. The coal seam that inspired the name of the trail was mined in the 1800's. There are a few artifacts that can be seen along the trail.
