About This Trail

Imported description
The trail is a point to point trail that climbs a hill overlooking the river valley and takes you into an old growth timber. Many trees are over 100 years old. The hike begins near the stone shelter on the south end or near the park office on the north end. If you go from trail head to trail head, the trail is 1.5 miles long. The trail is two miles if you hike by the road to your vehicle. The trail crosses the foot bridge and heads uphill through old growth timber. After crossing the ridge through native shortleaf pines, you return to the valley. At this point, one can see the fish hatchery from the park office.
