About This Trail

Imported description
It is close to home and has river rapids, wildlife, steep cliffs, dog and kid friendly wilderness. It is a nature-lover's treasure. The trail goes through a forest, through a meadow and past river rapids. In the early morning hours, white-tail deer and other animals can be seen. It's better to cross the island during the summer months when the park gets a lot of visitors. picnic tables are available along the route, and fishing with a permit is allowed. The rapids at the southeast shore drown out the sound of traffic and three nearby islands offer wilderness views to the west. The nature walks on Peebles Island are both diverse and peaceful.
