Mud Pond Loop from Spier Falls Rd

The entrance to the parking area is easy to miss, so drive slowly. The Western Ridge Trail is to the east from the parking area. The trail is easy to follow and descends towards Mud Pond. There are many stream crossing with steppingstones. Take the Mud Pond trail to the left. The water at various points around the pond has nice views. The Nature trail is 2.1 miles. The junction Red Oak Ridge trail is 2.6 miles and begins the hike back up towards the ridge. Take the rocky descent along the Turkey Path trail back to the Western Ridge Trail.
