About This Trail
The Panhandle Trail has a connection to the rail-trail. The McDonald Trestle is the center of the Montour Trail. It cost over $500,000 to build, and was over 1000 feet in length and 70 feet high. You can connect to the Panhandle Trail at McDonald, which will eventually cover 30 miles from there to West Virginia. The trail ends near Venice, where a bridge used to take the rail line over. It is long gone. If you go this far, you will have to take a short road detour to get to the Cecil section of the trail.
