About This Trail

Imported description
The trail begins at the base of the mesa. The trail climbs quickly once you start the hike. There are informational signs along the way which explains the people who created the petroglyphs, and the surrounding area. A side trail leads to a panoramic view of the mesa. There are several extinct volcanoes to the west and the Rio Grande River to the east. Give yourself 45 minutes to an hour to enjoy the views. Even though most of the hike is paved, it can get pretty steep in sections. It is very difficult for children under 3. The other 2 shorter trails are in the Boca Negra Canyon. It is worth it, even if it is shorter than 15 minutes.
