Meramec Highland Quarry

Dee Koestering Park was donated to the city of Kirkwood in honor of his late wife. If you look closely, you can see that the stone was used to build a number of local resorts. The overlook is accessible in a wheelchair, but walking down in the quarry requires climbing over some rocks and crossing some shallow streambeds. The mosquitoes can be abundant in the warmer months. It's a great workout and a park that's lightly traveled.
