The hike from Scott Mountain Summit to Masterson Meadow Lake is on the west side of the mountain. There are views of the Russian and Marble Mountain Wildernesses in the distance after the start, followed by views of the western portions of the Trinity Alps. It was behind Mt. that Shasta lined up. Affirmative The trail goes in and out of the trees. You must leave the trail-head and go uphill to Masterson Meadow Lake. You can see Mt. from the far side of the lake. It said that Shasta was beyond it. The trail head is in the Trinity NF, whereas most of the trail is in the Klamath NF.
