About This Trail

Imported description
The trail begins at a parking area. The park's "Pole Farm" district used to be the historic AT&T Oversees Transmission Facility. The world's first wireless telephone calls were switched through this property in the 1920s, and Franklin Roosevelt's calls to his friend, the leader of the British Empire, was made through this property following the attack on Pearl Harbor. The trail segments are mostly crushed stone and not paved in the lake district. It's great for hiking and biking. The Lawrence Hopewell Trail can be found in at least one spot.
