About This Trail
Red Mountain Open Space is closed from December to March due to wildlife and winter weather. The Lookout Point is worth the time to get there. You'll get a panoramic view of the plains, north side of Rocky Mountain National Park, Wyoming, and the "Big Hole" on the lookout point. It's hot and dry up there on the Ridge, and if you choose to do this in the summer, you'll see the occasional rattlesnake.
