About This Trail

Generated from trail data
Follows an old paved service road, then dirt, nearly level along the Firehole River from the Kepler Cascades trailhead to Lone Star Geyser, a 12-foot cone that erupts 30-45 feet roughly every three hours. The wide, gentle grade is open to bikes (left at a barrier near the geyser) and is one of Yellowstone's most accessible backcountry geyser walks. A logbook at the geyser tracks recent eruption times.
