Whitewater anchors the southern end of the Kettle Morain State Park Sourthern Unit-20,000 plus acres of glacial hills, kettles, lakes, pine woods and hardwood forests. It is home to the statewide Ice Age trail, Old World Wisconsin, and the largest wet prairie east of the Mississippi River-3,500-acre Scuppernong River Habitat Area. You will ride through the quiet villages and country surrounding Whitewater. Going south of Whitewater, WI, the route skirts the Kettle Moraine before turning west through the countryside. You'll enjoy alternating between long, uniterrupted straight-aways and rolling hills while passing a handfull of scenic spot suitable for a rest-including a natural spring and the historic location where Abraham Lincoln was "horse" jacked. With the Kettle Moraine and several other rides nearby, you could easily turn this day trip into a pleasant, active weekend.
