About This Trail
Challenging but not overwhelming with the scenery. Go to secluded, crystal-clear mountain lakes and fish for trout. The camping is in the lower part of the canyon. There are great early- summer wildflowers and changing aspens. The trail is open to bikers and hikers. A short drive from the town of the same name is a premier outdoor recreation destination. It is located in the Inyo National Forest. The road is narrow and steep. It is possible to anticipate when passing will be necessary by seeing the road ahead. It's suitable for all stock SUVs. It is possible that snow will block the upper portion of the trail.
