About This Trail

The road is closed to vehicles. The road is washed out outside the park boundary. The road and trail are open to pedestrians and bikers. This hike is more of a route than a trail. It is quite strenuous, traversing blowdown and scree. It ends at Lake Constance. A wilderness permit is required to camp. There is a washout several miles from the trailhead. The trail goes around the closure and is used to access the trail. Many visitors bring a bike for this stretch, which they leave at the trail head.
