About This Trail
The canyon is a great place to go for a day hike with a great view of the peak. The trail is still used as a multi-use trail after the forest road was closed. The hillsides are mostly open with pockets of maple and cedar in the bottom of the canyon. On the front side of Kent's Peak, there are good views of the geological formations. The junipers and maples give way to pines and aspens when you go deeper into the canyon. Expect to see mule deer, as well as moose and other animals. A nice spring is near the top of the canyon, but it is dry for the first mile or two.
