About This Trail
There is an unpaved trail that goes through the old woods of Kennedy Park. Even though the trail is over twenty years old, it is still an unknown gem in the Raleigh neighborhood. Follow the yellow trail signs to follow its twists and turns. The trail starts at a parking area near the park entrance. This hike has views of the Wolf River, mature bottomland hardwood forest, wildflowers, and rustic bridges. If you want to stay on the soft surface, you should take the out-and-back road. You can take a walk around the linear parking area and along the park road. There is an additional 1.5 miles of paved trail to add to your hike after crossing this trail several times.
