About This Trail

Generated from trail data
Follows the eroded roadbed of the old Oʻahu Railway along the wild north shore from the end of pavement past Camp Erdman to Kaʻena Point, Oʻahu's westernmost tip, protected as a Natural Area Reserve. The hot, shadeless, nearly flat route passes rocky coves, tide pools, and sand dunes; inside the predator-fenced reserve, burrow-nesting seabirds raise chicks and Hawaiian monk seals haul out on the rocks. Winter brings humpback whale sightings offshore.
