About This Trail
The park is expected to have soccer fields and barbecues, but some of it has been allowed to run wild. It's a good introduction to tidewater forest ecology in the city. The soccer fields and barbecue pits can be found at the front entrance. The best approach is from the back entrance. There is limited parking on the streets. The road is closed to auto traffic and you have to walk up the hill into the woods. The park authority along with Friends of Bryan Park and Virginia Master Naturalists have been cleaning up trash, clearing out alien flora and planting natives. There is a beginning to a guided nature walk. There is good access to the Jordan Branch.
