About This Trail

Imported description
Explanation of the local flora and fauna can be found on the Ingomar Mounds Trail. The site is also a way station for the Monarch Butterfly. The Indian mound is the highlight of the trail. The Ingomar Mounds are believed to have been built by people who traveled hundreds of miles to trade. The largest Indian mounds in the United States are 30 feet high. The area was inhabited by the early native americans when the mounds were built. The Archaeological Conservancy is the owner of the property and manages it with the Heritage Museum.
