About This Trail
There is a 160 acres of prairie in the center of Fort Worth, Texas. The Fort Worth prairie remnant is called the Tandy Hills Natural Area. The land that became the natural area was obtained by the city in the 1960s. The Fort Worth Nature Center and refuge are in charge of the park. It's rare for a prairie flora to contain more than 500 native plant species. It's amazing how many spring wildflowers there are in the Metroplex. The land is a living testament to how settlers came to Fort Worth in the 19th century. TheTHNA is less than five minutes away from downtown Fort Worth, Texas. It has never beendeveloped or used and is in relatively pristine condition.
