About This Trail
The parking lot is found from Hairy John's picnic area. The trail goes up for about.75 miles before it goes down again. The mid-state trail goes at the junction of the Hairy John's and Winkleblech trails. Go left and you can see the trees through the trail on the ridge top. The trail is easy to follow on the narrow ridgetop. The 1.7 mile drive will lead you to Winkleblech Mountain Rd. It had good views south and east. Go left on Winkleblech Mountain Road. After 8 miles, you'll get to Hairy John's picnic area.
