About This Trail

Imported description
The top of Garnet Mountain has a fire lookout on it. The lookout gives a panoramic view of the peaks. The Spanish Peaks to the west, the Gallatin range to the south, and the Hyalite Ridge to the east are some of the highlights. The parking area is where you can hike to the top of the mountain. The last mile is one of the best uphills, but there are no scrambling or anything like that. The trail is accessible by ATVs, and can be muddy with recent rain or snow. The view from the top is amazing. The lookout can be rented overnight via recreation.gov. Search for a fire lookout. $30 per night. It is said that Sleeps four.
