About This Trail

Imported description
The Fourth of July Park has approximately 25 miles of cross country ski and snowshoe trails with 8 miles for track skiing in the winter, and for hiking, biking, and nature walks in warmer seasons. No motorized vehicles are allowed on these trails. There is an excellent network of trails for you to explore, while you are surrounded by pine forests. USFS, Idaho Parks and Recreation, and the Panhandle Nordic Ski and Snow-shoe Club cooperate to maintain this area for recreation. Dogs are not allowed on groomed ski trails. There are four snowshoe trails which all allow dogs on leashes. This trail network is located east of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. On I-90, at the crest of Fourth of July Summit, there is an exit for the park. (There is heavy snow in this pass in the winter, so prepare chains for your automobile.) Take Lakes Divide Road, and keep right until you arrive at the parking area at the trailhead. There is ample parking, and overflow parking as well. There are restrooms at the trailhead.
