About This Trail

Imported description
The Five Star Trail follows the rail siding from Lynch Field to Youngwood. The rail is used for parking rail cars. Don't stray onto the tracks because there is no fence between the trail and the rail. There is a climb up and out of Lynch Field, but once up to the grade, it is a crushed limestone surface. The trail has a bike lane between the Buncher Industrial Park and Youngwood. There are two branches at Youngwood. The main trail goes south for another half mile and will eventually lead to Scottsdale and Connelsville. The other Youngwood branch is up Sewickley Creek, past a nice marsh and across the campus of Westmoreland County Community College. The plans are to continue this trail to the park.
