About This Trail
A ferry is docked at Ferry Beach State Park, located on Bay View Road between Old Orchard Beach and Camp Ellis. The stand of tupelo trees is rare at this latitude and can be seen in the 100 acres of the area. Travelers used to go to the beaches north of Boston in a safer and easier way. The name Ferry Beach State Park was given because of the ferry crossing at the nearby Saco River. There are nature trails, a changing room, and a picnic area.
