About This Trail
The trail starts at the Odd Fellows Campground and leads to the Colorado state line. This trail can also be completed in a back-and-forth fashion. The Purgatory Gulch Trailhead is a good place to enter the river. The Encampment River Trail goes for two miles from the Purgatory Gulch Trail. The road to the Purgatory Gulch is very rough and you need to drive 4wd. The Odd Fellows Trailhead is listed on the page. There are often downed trees on this trail. Visitors can start at the southern end of the park and head north.
