About This Trail
The Lower Buffalo Wilderness is home to two separate trails that are popular with day hikers, backpackers and horseback riders. The Seven Mile Bend is also known as the Duck's Head Bend. The trails are easy to navigate despite the lack of markers. There are occasional glimpse of the Buffalo River far below, but trees obscure the long distance view. The west trail goes down Jackson Ridge to a bluff line on the duck's crown, the east trail goes down the duck's bill to Laffoon Bottom. The elevation change is 650'. No creek crossing.
