About This Trail
It is possible that this trail is closed during muddy conditions. It is a good idea to visit the park's website first. It is an extension of the Devil Backbone Interpretive Trail. There are some amazing views of the CO foothills from the rolling plateau after a short but steep uphill climb. If you're quiet, you can see some deer and other animals. Quiet and solitude in this area is a nice respite. The views from the summit give a different view. There are many trails leading to Devil's Backbone. The Morrison loop is accessible from the south of the starting area. Keyhole or Wild loop is the popular hike that goes for 2.6 miles.
