About This Trail
The Whiskeytown National Recreation Area was damaged by the Carr fire. A good portion of the trail, which was renamed to Davis Gulch Trail, survived and has now grown. There are dangers in burned areas, such as falling trees/limbs, loose and falling rocks, and the possibility of flash flooding.
