Please note: As of March 2020, users have reported that they are doing constructional along a portion of the trail and there is a re-route you need to follow. Complexity: Moderate to Hard Terrain: Its considerable elevation gain all over the trail with lots of ups and downs. so make sure you are ready for it. Sometimes it gets rocky. Shadow: You will be under the trees 95% of the time. Trekking Pole: As there is lots of hills which you will go up and down you might need one to support. Foot Wear: Trail runners, shoes with toe guards. Scenic View: Round valley reservoir is one of the best breath taking water reservoir ever in NJ. Beautiful scenic route and do take some swimming clothes Trail Markers: This trail goes all the way up with red trail markers. If you are taking the right side of loop you should be fine. Parking: There is a parking fee of 10$ if you live in NJ and other states 20$. There is a lot of parking space. Around 25+ Permit: N/A Animal Encounter: Squirrels Streams : You are always close to the lake. But elevation gain can be tiring so make sure you take enough. Traffic: Saw lots of hikers and trail runners Campsites: Lots of alotted dispersed camp sites and picnic areas around the lake. Pet: Take plenty of water, its will be very tiresome for your little one. Need to be leashed.
