About This Trail

The park is closed for hiking during the winter. The Ted Stiles Preserve is a ridge that spans over 1800 acres between Pleasant Valley Road and Fiddlers Creek Road. Baldpate Mountain is one of the most rugged walking areas in the county. There are some logging roads and trails on the southern and northern flanks of the ridge. There are great views of the Delaware River to the south, historic farmland to the north, and the Philadelphia skyline to the southwest. There are scattered farms and ruins of a 19th century settlement on some Baldpate trails. Some sections of the trail may be wet. The trails include steep stone steps that need a moderate degree of caution. The trails are not paved.
