About This Trail

The trail goes over 1,500 feet to Cove Lake. The trail is in the national forest, but only half a mile in the state park boundaries. It is a great hiking destination for beginners and offers some of the best hiking in Arkansas. It is possible to camp overnight in the national forest. Look at stands of virgin hardwoods. It is a good idea to watch for deer and turkey. It's permissible to hunt in the national forest, but be aware of the seasons and wear bright colored clothing. There are additional trails around the lake, and the Forest Service Recreation Area has camping, picnicking, and swimming. The quote was from White Diamond blazes.
