About This Trail
This trail explores the red oak and pitch pine forests of the Ossipee Pine Barrens Preserve. The trails offer a wonderful view of the Cooks Pond. The continental glaciers created huge cracks in the sand and gravel that are known as Eskers. The Nature Conservancy manages this preserve in New Hampshire, and it is an excellent place for hiking, fishing, and snowmobiling. Dogs are on a leash and are not allowed on the preserve.
