About This Trail
There is a parking area on the other side of the road. The blue-blazed Cockaponset Trail can be reached by taking it as far as Old County Road, 4 miles, and then returning via the blue and red Pattaconk. There are signs marked with the remains of a colliers hut. The trees were burned to make charcoal, which was used by industry.
