About This Trail
This is a short and easy walk in a small green area in the middle of Bergen County that is known for its excellent birdwatching. Go behind the kiosk and turn left. It will go through an area that is often wet and follow a stream to a ditch. The meadow with acres of phragmites is to your right. You will pass an observation platform if you stay on the trail. A good place to look at birds. The trail goes around the lake and then goes east and then south. This is not a wilderness hike as you are never far from roads and area homes, but it is worthwhile if you are interested in birdwatching and the area is also known for butterflies. It is a great hike for families with young children.
