About This Trail
The face of Pine Mountain Ridge is the next major challenge. The gain is in the upper three figures with a distance of about eight miles. It's in the northeast and you must approach the peak from there. Between the peaks of Pine Valley Wilderness there are a couple of beautiful meadows. The tallest peaks are surrounded by trees, but there is at least some views on the ridge. Then the last thing the hikers have to go through is Burger Peak. Burger Peak has a better view of the valley along the north and the peaks in the Pine Valley Mountain Wilderness than Signal Peak. The picture does not do it justice. Make sure you check out the registry on Burger Peak. It usually takes about an hour and a half to get to Burger Peak.
