Bruneau River OHV Trail

Starting at Bruneau, Hot Springs Road is paved to the bridge across the Bruneau River. Turn on the CCC Road and then on the Indian Bath Springs Road. Continuing make a loop to the Bruneau River, dismount and hike to the Bruneau Canyon Rim. As you approaching the Blackstone Road, you will encounter an improved two track road leading to a river overlook on the downriver side of Big Draw. The road had been graveled to a stock watering location and was in excellent condition the rest of the way, at least by Owyhee County standards. The road bordered the wilderness area. As you drive back, you go past the Air Force's tank army practice range and then on the Missile Base Road back to Highway 51, then Bruneau.It was later confirmed the bombing practice range is in fact part of the Saylor Creek Range, as are two additional (& much smaller) ranges located east of and near Grasmere.  All four mentioned sites contain electronic emitters. Travel westwardly on Missile Base Road, and you approach what was first thought to be just a gravel pit but soon you will discover a security fence on the north side cordoning off approximately 40 acres. Within this fenced area are several small structures that look very much like outhouses. The fenced area is actually a decommissioned (1965) Titan I Missile launch site, hence the name Missile Base Road.
