Brookgreen Gardens Loop

Brookgreen Gardens is part botanical garden, part zoo, and part outdoor art museum. The expansive botanical gardens have beautiful sculptures around every corner. You will see many different types of sculptures ranging from nymphs to animals. Brookgreen Gardens also has a zoo with animals that are native to the Lowcountry like owls, alligators, river otters and turkeys. There is also a new butterfly house where you can see many different butterflies for an additional cost. Check the schedule before you go for the hands-on activities and tours. Stop by the Visitor Center and pick up the children's activity book before you get started. As you wander around Brookgreen Gardens, your children can answer questions in the book and get a prize when they are finished.
