Boy Scout Road

This hike is in the Big Branch Wildlife refuge. The majority of the hike is on a road. Hikers and mountain bikers are the only ones allowed on the road. There are some side trails to the main trail. The hike goes through swamps and wooded areas. There is a lot of wildlife to be observed. There is a wide variety of flora in this area. The area is subject to controlled burns to control brush and other invaders. In warmer months, mosquitoes and ticks can be a problem. There are some interesting birds here.
