About This Trail
The Black Mountain Crest Trail is a point to point trail that starts at Bowlens Creek Road and ends at Mt Mitchell Summit. It's easy to start from the top. The trail follows Mt Mitchell Ridge for 7 miles, traversing the biggest collection of peaks in the eastern US. The trail goes from Celo to Bowlens Creek. A car shuttle is recommended to get you to the Mt Mitchell and Bowlens Creek trails. If any, there's very limited parking at Bowlens creek.
