About This Trail
It is hard to get to Phantom Falls, which is one of the prettiest in California. In the fall and into the spring there are storms. This hike visits more than one waterfall. Cattle are generally safe, but give some space to the occasional bull. The best time to see wildflowers is late February-April. There is a short stretch of trail on a cliff. It is not dangerous, but if you have a fear of heights, you won't like it. It is best to see the sun on falls in the early afternoon.
