About This Trail

The Bayfront Bikeway is a paved route that goes across the city of Erie in northwestern Pennsylvania. The trail goes downhill from the east end of the campus to the west end of town, following the Bayfront Expressway. The trail has a mix of cityscapes, wooded stretches and lake views. The Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park is a highlight of the trip. You can continue on the bikeway along Sixth Street to reach Presque Isle State Park, a beautiful peninsula park with more than 3,000 acres to explore and sandy beaches along Lake Erie.
