About This Trail
There is an Apple Creek wetlands area located in northeast Cape Ullegae County, about three miles east of New Wells. The apple creek conservancy area was created by themissouri department of conservations in 1986 after buying 2,082 acres There are a number of steep hills and narrow valleys and a large area of apple Creek stream behind them. The area has a mix of upland and bottomland forests. Some forest improvement practices have the intention of improving wildlife habitats and improving storm quality. It's important that forest wildlife have access to the appropriate levels of cover and forage in the timber harvests. Any temporary physical problem will soon be resolved, according to this quote. The department created a lot of watering ponds and planted food plots within the forest to feed the forest's wildlife.
