About This Trail
The trail leads you through an interesting part of the San Bernardino Mountains. There is an area that isn't quite desert, a maple forest, and a pine forest. It is a mix of all of the above. The view from the peninsula is incredible, but you can get great views of the lake in just a short time. The hike is very good for 3 1/2 miles and it is very steady. The going gets really steep after that. It is well maintained, but overgrown in a few places. The trail heading up the peak is a good place to keep an eye out for. If you want to take the Spitler Peak Hike with you, it can be done in two ways: you can take it alone, or you can take it with you.
