About This Trail

It's easy to overlook an outdoor retreat in DC. You can see the flora and fauna that call it home. The park has a floating dock for canoes and kayaks, which can circle both islands during high tide. The Heritage Island trail goes through a wooded path that leads to the RFK stadium and Kingman Lake. The trail can be muddy or overgrown during the season. The access trail through the woods leads to views of Kingman Lake and the connecting boardwalks. The wooded section is less interesting than the rest of the park.
