About
Letchworth-Love Mounds Archaeological State Park is a 76.2 ha Florida state park in Jefferson County, Florida, about 9.7 kilometres (6 mi) west of Monticello. It preserves the Letchworth-Love Mounds (8JE337), a Woodland period mound complex on a low sandy rise near the southwestern shore of Lake Miccosukee. Its principal earthwork, Mound 1, stands about 15 metres (49 ft) tall and is the tallest surviving prehistoric Native American earthwork mound in Florida. The site was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.
