About

Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park is located in Leon County, Florida, approximately 15 miles southeast of Tallahassee, near the community of Woodville. The park is named after a natural bridge formed by the St. Marks River, which vanishes into sinkholes and flows underground before re-emerging at the St. Marks River Rise. This unique geological feature, combined with its historical significance as the site of a Civil War battle in 1865, makes the park a distinctive destination for both history buffs and nature enthusiasts. Visitors to Natural Bridge Battlefield Historic State Park can explore its extensive trails, which offer opportunities for hiking and wildlife observation. The park's natural beauty and historical markers provide a serene environment for picnicking and learning about the area's past. Parking is available on-site, and the park is generally accessible year-round. As conditions can change, it is advisable to verify hours, fees, and any potential closures on the official state site before visiting.
